Frequently Asked Questions

What is your grant writing workshop all about?
Our High Impact Grants Grant writing workshops are all about helping your grant proposals get funded! That means we focus on proposal development techniques that are generally not found in grant writing books or on grant writing websites. Our grant writing workshops will help you develop proposals that are well-conceived, well researched and that tell a powerful story to funders.

How much is the tuition?
The tuition for Workshop 1, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" is only $195. The tuition for Workshop 2, CREATE HIGH IMPACT GRANTS! is $390. If you register for both workshops, tuition is only $535, instead of $585. You will also receive a copy of our newest publication, The Encyclopedia of Evidence-Based Programs, Practices and Interventions (a $195 value.) Graduates of our workshops will also receive a Certificate of Completion and 90 days of free phone consultation. Both workshops also include breakfasts, and all instructional materials, including the High Impact Grants! workshop manual.

Are these workshops for beginning or experienced grant writers?
Beginning and experienced grant writers can benefit by attending these workshops. Our workshops provide beginning grant writers a great introduction to the fundamentals of effective proposal development: planning your proposal, how to develop effective proposal components, finding funders at the local, state and federal levels, how to communicate with funders, and how to write proposals efficiently and effectively. Experienced grant writers can learn the latest concepts about developing powerful proposals. For example, how can proposal developers answer the important ‘So What?’ question that all funders will ask?

What types of organizations attend?
Our workshop attendees have included representatives from nonprofit organizations, staff and administrators from schools, colleges and universities, members of faith-based organizations, grant making organizations, local and state government agencies, university researchers, board members of community organizations, for-profit businesses and community representatives from all over America. For a detailed listing of past workshop attendees, go to past participants.

How do I pay the workshop tuition?
The easiest way to register is to register online. Our registration process is totally safe and secure. If you would rather not give your credit card information over the internet, you can also register by downloading our registration form and faxing it or mailing it to us. Or you can call High Impact Grants at 800-846-7514 and register over the phone. However you register, we are sure you will have a great experience in our workshops.

Do your workshops cover research proposals?
Our workshops are designed to accommodate a wide variety of grant writing interests. Accordingly, we present learning modules that provide professional development opportunities for community-based and research-focused workshop participants. In those instances where a majority of workshop attendees are scientific or technical researchers, we will modify our curriculum to provide a more research-intensive learning experience.

Do you have a description of what the workshops cover?
Our workshops are designed to present all major learning concepts to our participants. For a detailed description of our three-day grant writing workshops, go to our workshops.

Who are the workshop facilitators?
Our principal workshop facilitator is Edward W. Wollmann, a highly experienced grant writer and grant writing workshop instructor. For a detailed description of Edward’s professional background, go to about us.

Have your workshops ever been evaluated?
We provide opportunities for all our workshop participants to evaluate our grant writing workshops. Over the years, almost 99 percent of past workshop participants have reported they would recommend our grant writing workshop to others. We also have many testimonials that describe the effectiveness of our grant writing workshops. If you would like a detailed evaluation  of our grant writing workshops, just call  High Impact Grants toll free at 800-846-7514.

How is your grant writing workshop different from the others?
The biggest difference between our grant writing workshops and other workshops is that we place a major emphasis on program impacts. As one of our recent workshop attendees put it:

Ed Wollmann’s presentation on “High Impact Grant Proposals” at the Michigan Rehabilitation Conference last week was one of the best presentations on grant proposals I’ve ever been to.  He was enthusiastic and really engaged the audience.  Many of our community rehabilitation organizations were there and as a grant reviewer, I hope that the participants will use the tools he provided to create “high impact” proposals that Michigan Rehabilitation Services could fund in the future.
